In the meantime, will do. I’ve never had an issue with trinus vr other than setting up the correct settings.
As a bit of feedback, i hope you find useful, trinus AIOVR having the ability to capture fullscreen ( so far every game i’ve tried allows it where trinus vr almost never worked fs ) is a massively useful selling point.
also, i don’t know why, but trinus aiovr, even in mouse sbs gave a significantly smoother framerate over wifi.
Optimally i’d love to find a solution and support your work by buying trinus aiovr. I really hope there is in fact a solution.
Yes it does. I actually had to go and check because i’m used to trinus having to be in windowed mode, so I was only using that. But alas, full screen gives me the same result.
I also tried, for diagnosis sake, a few other things. IPD doesn’t change regardless of the setting i use. The image is always the same. And when I use the x and y scale, even though the size of the image per eye does indeed change, the image overlap problem still persists.
Please let me know if perhapse i’m missing something on my end. I’m on windows 10 and using an nvidia geforce GTX 1070.
and, as i said previously, this problem persists even if i’m using reshade OR vireio. I can turn them on and off or disable the reshade 3d shader with no change to the image streamed to the headset.
Honestly I’m not sure if the problem is on trynus’ end now.
The other day I updated to the newest version and the mouse support was drifting one way for a while and then started going the other direction. sometimes fast, sometimes slow.
I turned on positional tracking without a camera input and the problem seemed to go away. I thought I was ok and had found a workaround. I played for a few hours in this way and had no issues.
it started acting up again last night and now, I’m worried it may be an improperly calibrated gyroscope. The problem for me is I do not know how to recalibrate it to see for myself. I am no longer certain if the program is the issue and don’t want to detract you from actual verified bugs.
plugged in a webcam and set up positional tracking and the mouse movement problem went away. I could then turn off positional options without having the issue again.
duplicated issue and workaround two hours later.
I have no idea why this worked. I was trying to get positional tracking working for doom 3 bfg and instead found that the mouse was now “calibrated” properly.
just ordered my cc! now to wait until feb 10th for it to get here!
Here’s what my cardboard looks like now:
The black stuff is just the foam sheets. they were like, 33 cents each and I only used 2 of them. I was going to use the excess to go around the inside and back and make it look better, but now that the cc is on it’s way i’ll just concentrate on my overclocking.
I’m pretty proud of the nose piece. it’s snug and feels good even after playing for a few hours 🙂January 18, 2015 at 10:22 am in reply to: Server slow – USB 3 queries – also old version for testing! #2044
Well, I tried overclocking but when I ran my games I got a jittering framerate. Obviously I don’t know what i’m doing so i’m setting everything back to factory and doing some further reading about this.
Since we’re really off topic for this thread, I guess i’ll bring it around full circle so that anyone diving in here can get some info for usb 3.0.
is it safe then, blyss, to assume that if you’re getting more than 400mps transfer speed through your cable that you won’t gain anything from enabling usb3.0?
Im going to have to upgrade then. I heavily modified my cardboard set with some foam pad sheets from the craft store, and cut them out to mold to the sides of my face and block out all the light around me. Then I put more of the foam around the nose and riveted some strips of velcro to act as a headstrap. I am happy with the comfort but the fov is horrendous. I am definitely going to get a CC headset then. Thanks!January 17, 2015 at 12:48 pm in reply to: Server slow – USB 3 queries – also old version for testing! #2035
ok my bad it’s not an intel, but rather an AMD FX 6 core 3.30ghz.
I envy your Gpu. I kicked myself hard for getting mine. It’s supposed to be a 2gb card but it really gets the performance of a really weak 1gb. Not for gaming and from what I can see, not much else.
I overclocked mine a tiny bit and squeezed enough juice out of it to run mirrors edge and skyrim in acceptable fashion.January 16, 2015 at 2:21 pm in reply to: Server slow – USB 3 queries – also old version for testing! #2026
It was registering on the counter and was definitely noticeable with my eyes. I’m not sure if it will work for everyone though. My rig is a 6 core intel with 10gb ram but the graphics card is a paltry nividia geforce 550gt overclocked.
I didn’t notice any drop in image quality whatsoever with it off but when I toggled it on just now, I got around 15-20fps with minor fits and starts. I turned it back off and it was smooth as butter with over 30fps constantly.January 16, 2015 at 12:11 pm in reply to: Server slow – USB 3 queries – also old version for testing! #2019
Blyss, Turning off enhanced quality gave me around 5 to 10 fps extra and from what i’m seeing, not any noticeable lack of quality. I tried lowering the quality down on the server side first from ultra to very high and noticed artifacts and discoloration and I don’t think I got the performance bump that turning off enhanced quality did.
Skulker, I wouldn’t pursue usb 3.0 farther than giving it a few tries. If you’re getting 400+mps transfer on your network like I was, that’s really all I think you need.
As far as previous versions and software bug checking, I can’t help you there. I can only verify that I have slightly slower start ups on both client and server sides since the update, but nothing really detrimental.
I’m still using a cardboard set. Is the colorcross version way better? Are the lenses any bigger? Because the only complaint I have at all is the narrow field of view I get. I understand any larger diameter lenses may result in the edges of the screen showing but I might be willing to put up with it.January 15, 2015 at 8:31 am in reply to: Server slow – USB 3 queries – also old version for testing! #1998
I was never able to get usb3.0 to stay on with tethering because of a limitation with the Galaxy s5. I assume the same will be true with the note 3.
try turning off the “enhanced quality” option on the client and see if you get better results from that. It worked for me well enough that I let usb3.0 dreams fade.
You should try left clicking your network connection once it’s established and click “status”. How many megabytes per second are you getting?
Wrong about what?
Wow, ok. Maybe I need to be thankful for what I have 🙂 Reading that makes me feel way better about this whole thing. I’ve been tinkering with networks and trying different tethering apps and am very pleased to say good enough is good enough, and get back to enjoying my games.
I actually got very good results last night with mirrors’ edge by turning ‘enhanced quality’ off in the client side and bumping the server quality up to ‘ultra’.
Thanks Blyss. Again, I really appreciate your attention on this matter.
I used wifi hotspot when I started but I’m getting better performance by tethering. It seems I’m getting about 425mbp transfer rate, so i’m probably better off sticking to what I do have. I’ll check out Cyanogenmod though. I am pretty good at following instructions and if it’s possible I may be able to pull it off.
The more I think about this whole thing the less sense it makes. Tethering throws the phone’s wifi off automatically and trinus requires you to turn airplane mode on before it will pick up the tether. So if tethering works with airplane mode ON and wifi OFF, then why can’t I establish my network without airplane mode off?
by the way, I tried eztether free and established a usb connection that was 1gps transfer, but trinus could not pick that up and still threw the error.
