Sorry for my late reply. I tried the patch, it works, I get the 120hz back, thanks a lot @loxai.
A little problem is once I run the patch I get a virus alert from windows 10 defender,,,
Yes, I tried, I got the max 66hz with heavy ghost when I quick turn my head left or right.
I really don’t care some new features just like position/head track or something else, the stable 120hz and the functional nolovr are my biggest concern.
Any possibility for me to get the 0.92 back?June 13, 2018 at 2:27 pm in reply to: Bad asynchronous reprojection with newer versions! #7769
I installed the newest 0.96 yestoday, sadly, I still cannot get 120hz， when I returned to the 0.92 version, the great 120hz world is back too.April 15, 2018 at 3:27 pm in reply to: Bad asynchronous reprojection with newer versions! #7700
The hdmi headless that I bought has already arrived today,so I tested 120hz on the latest 0.95c and the previous 0.94d, I could not break through 60~65fps. I downgraded to the 0.92 version and achieved 120fps successfully. I would like to say that some of the current new versions are compared with 0.92, some key things may be missing.
@acsdani, Thank you very much for your guidance, you are my hero！
“Disable direct mode” have the compositor to go directly to the HMD. Are you sure? what about the performance with that? my understanding is to enable direct mode, unfortunately, I have never been able to get direct mode to work on my PSVR, the whitelist trick does not work, forcing directmode in steamvr.vrsettings too.
Testbuild “g” + steamVR [openvr-imputemulator-temporary] ver:1512445023
i7 8700/8G/gtx1066/sandisk 240ssd.
test1:– setting PSVR Display selector to none (—) vs a display
set selector to –,the compositor window always showing up on main monitor;
set selector to display2(hmd), the compositor window almost showing up in HMD. sometimes it does not work.
test2:– enabling/disabling vsync in Advanced tab.
enabling/disabling vsync , The difference is not obvious and cannot be measured accurately.
test3:– setting vsync timing to 0 vs med/high value.
The difference is not obvious for me.I don’t have fps test tool and can’t display real time fps.
The above test results apply to 2x and 5x supersampling(via steamvr-setup-developer)：
2x: under 50%
3x: under 60%
5x: under 80%
What is the “Alt. Display Select Mo” in the Advanced tab? I can’t get any info for it,
When I was testing the testbuild “f” version yesterday, I noticed that my previous environment had a error. The headset was not 120hz, but 60hz. So I retested the performance of the two refresh rates. Under the extended mode. whtn HMD set to 120hz, swinging the headset to the left and right will have serious ghosting, and 60hz will be much better. This is very unreasonable? I think that if only the monitor is 120hz, headset setting 120hz can really improve performance, but if the monitor and head refresh rate are different, it will cause ghosting(under the extended mode).
Yes, the test build looks better, the ghost shadow significantly reduces and the latency is acceptable, the FPS is still not very high, so I have ordered a HDMI headless adapter, I will try 120 hz later.
I just tried 0.93e(psvrtest.zip), headset display using extended mode, in the steamvr home, the ghost image disappeared obviously when I quickly swing left and right , this performance is very close to I set the headset as primary monitor(@0.93c).
The ver 0.9 does not bring so obviously latency in my mind.
After updated to 0.9.3c, I got a bit heavy latency in steamvr home and some vr video player just like simple vrvideo player,my env are as following:
i7 8700/8G/gtx1060 6G/Win10
Dell u2417h 1920*1080@60hz, psvr 1920*1080@120hz ,extend mode, primary is u2417,(even tried to setup psvr as primary monitor but bring many troubles, gived up)
no nolovr, no freepie, just HMD
Same here, and I send 3 emails to support for help in few days ago, I got no one email received, nothing, please tell me, I have nothing to do except buy one more license?
