I’ve really enjoyed the TrinusVR software thus far, but I’m trying to increase my speed and have fewer issues. Does anyone know what driver is best for USB Tethering? My phone is a Oneplus One, and from what I understand, I am supposed to use the SAMSUNG driver. However, there are several driver packages available and Windows lists them all in the Driver Wizard with the same exact name. I can only see the date of driver release by going into properties on Device Manager. I believe my current driver (through Samsung Kies) is from 2011… Surely that isn’t the newest driver!
I wiped my computer recently and I’m fairly certain that prior to my Windows Reinstall, my driver was from 2014, and it did work much better. Does anyone know the best driver? Or any other suggestions?
Thanks.July 23, 2015 at 9:43 pm #3641
Maybe it Windows fetches the right one if you uninstall and delete current (Samsung?) driver and plug the phone again?
Otherwise, maybe you can find a default Google driver to get it working.
I am not sure using a Samsung driver for a different phone should necessary yield the best results (or even work at all)*.
I do recall going through several equally named drivers to get one working for OnePlus One.
*Ok, did a quick check before posting and it does seem like the Samsung driver is recommended… but maybe not ideal for best performance.July 25, 2015 at 3:52 pm #3652
If I uninstall and delete the current driver, Windows will automatically reinstall a generic driver, as it does not recognize the OnePlus One as a Samsung Phone. It’s so frustrating because regardless of how many times I uninstall or reinstall the Samsung drivers, there are probably five or six options in the driver database in device manager and I can’t see the dates on any of them.
What driver is best for performance? Can anyone with a working OnePlus One speak up and add to the conversation?July 26, 2015 at 2:12 am #3653
I guess it’s about trial and error at this point :S
The driver I have working for Samsung devices (checked with S5 and S6) is from 2/1/2014 version 184.108.40.206
I do not have my OnePlus One at hand atm, but It was probably using the very same driver when I tested.
So I get good results with that driver, idk if there might be a better one, but this one works well. I’d suggest manually installing until that version shows up.
You probably know that already but, just in case, once tethering is enabled, you can check driver details from Device Manager/network adapters/SAMSUNG mobile RNDIS->right click for Properties and Driver tabJuly 26, 2015 at 5:44 am #3654
Okay, I had that knew recently before deleting and trying again. I’ll go seek it out! Thanks, friend!July 29, 2015 at 7:25 pm #3685
After many tests, I have come to the conclusion that Samusung Mobile USB Remote NDIS Network Device version 220.127.116.11 (11/26/2014) works best with the One Plus One Smartphone.
Hope that this helps someone out in the future.July 30, 2015 at 9:57 am #3689
