    Hello,

I could really use some help with this as I literally spent two nights trying to fix this issue. Watched all the Youtube videos, bought a third-party SBS software, and yet the same error occurs: I’m only getting half of my desktop in my VR lens/that closing one eye thing and seeing the other half when I should be seeing the WHOLE thing.

I *Really* Don’t know what I’m doing wrong. Everything is hooked up correctly and all of the settings are right, and I still get the same Half-screen on one lens when I close my left/right eye.

Does anyone have a workaround or solution for this? I’m ready to just go out and buy an Oculus Rift and call it a day this is SO frustrating.

    Thanks!

This is precisely due to the content not being in SBS (Side By Side) format.
Unless you use some virtual desktop software (a few options available on SteamVR, or maybe having that 3rd party software applied to the desktop) that produces such SBS output, you will always have this problem.

Ok thank you for the input. So I’m not supposed to see my desktop in the VR headset due to it not being a SBS/VR game? Also, if I install VorpX and its active on my desktop the Overlapping/half screen will go away?

I swear this is so frustrating, I’m just almost ready to go out and buy an Oculus rift and call it a day.

I’m not too familiar with VorpX so I do not know about its capabilities to use desktop in VR (I understand its focus is on games). I recommend you contact VorpX support if you are having issues with their desktop mode.
Alternatively, I’d suggest using any of the virtual desktop applications available on SteamVR, like https://store.steampowered.com/app/382110/Virtual_Desktop/
