I’m getting Very High CPU usage (50%) when using Positional Tracking causing my CPU to always be at 100% because of SteamVR using so much as well.

Is there anyway to solve this, when I turn test mode off it goes back down to normal but ten cant use the positional tracking.

you’ll need a stronger cpu or a different positional tracker

I use an I5 4690K at 4.4ghz should that not be enough, I managed to fix the high CPU issue from the positional tracking, it was because i was using OpenNI Virtual tracker with my kinetic 360,

The only problem I have now is no matter what I use SteamVR with or without steam open my CPU usage is at 70+ when idle, VR Server seems to use the most, so as soon as I run any game it goes straight to 100%

My GPU is a GTX 1070 As well but that’s fine under load, just the CPU any ideas?

or is it genuinely just that I need a newer CPU?

    Thanks

Good that you sorted the tracking issue.
You didn’t give much detail, so I assumed you were using Trinus tracker. It was strange to me that it’d take so much cpu (hence my guess of the cpu being too low, which I don’t think is the case).

This then seems to be an issue with SteamVR or other software, not cpu.

Yeah sorry about that i realised i didn’t give enough detail after i posted but it wouldn’t let me back on this page until the next day for some reason,

I’m using a file to use Kinect as a webcam for head tracking using a webcam within Trinus as I cant afford Driver4VR at the moment,

Do you know if there is anything that can be done towards getting steam VR cpu usage down?

Thanks, Your program is awesome by the way Definitely Worth the money.
