I downloaded TrinusVR not too long ago and I’ve got to say that I love the idea of reliable phone-to-PC VR, but some problems have cropped up that make it impossible to use. I’ve been getting pretty low FPS and latency no matter what combination of settings I use (avg 18-25 FPS), and I’m not sure whether it’s due to my hardware or some other software incompatibility. Just to make it clear, games like Portal 2 and others are running at 60 FPS solid on my laptop but just not on Trinus.
I’m running a Toshiba Satellite and Samsung GS5, my laptop has a AMD A8-5545M 1.7GHZ processor and 8 gigs RAM. I don’t think that it would be due to a lacking hardware, but what kind of FPS do other users get?
Looking into streaming it over a screensharing program with TriDef; NVidia moonlight is out of the question but apparently others have used one called splashtop with some success. If anyone could help shed some light on my performance issues I’d be extremely grateful!
Trinus is quite CPU dependant. An A8 is not very fast…
You don’t specify game resolution but lower it, use 4:3 and Fake3D.
No word on connection mode, but use usb or Wifi AC. Make sure drivers are up to date for usb.
Also, if you go to advanced mode in Trinus PC, you can see fps in the top right corner: if the first one is low, PC side is the bottleneck. If the second one is lower, network+phone is the bottleneck
