ParticipantHi,
I recently got Trinus Gyre and I want to try Minecraft now.
I downloaded the Minecrift mod from here: http://www.mtbs3d.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=142&t=17489&p=124997#p124997
Install went fine but when I start the game with Minecrift mod it’s just showing a black window.
I installed the Oculus SDK (not sure if it’s needed for Trinus Gyre but the mod says it needs it and MSVC++ 2010 redistributables).Any ideas?

ParticipantWas it working before you modded it? Also if your phone screen is black, did you select minecraft in the options drop down when you connected to the server on your PC?

ParticipantThanks for your quick response.
It works flawlessly when the mod is disabled. And I didn’t express myself well. When I wrote
“with Minecrift mod itโs just showing a black window.” I meant that there is a black screen on Windows already even without using Trinus Gyre. If I stream it than only the window that lies under Minecraft in Windows is streamed (Windows explorer for example).
Right now it’s less a problem with Trinus Gyre but rather with the mod itself I believe. I asked this question here though as the mod is made for the Rift.October 22, 2014 at 9:47 am #1056Haizum74
ParticipantOK, have you tried it without the oculus sdk? What happens then. If its the actual mod rather than Trinus then there in lies the issue ๐

ParticipantStill a black screen. Has anybody got Minecrift running with Trinus Gyre (without a Rift) before?

ParticipantIf its a black screen on your PC when not running Trinus then its an issue PC side.
OK I just tried it myself, it works but stays on the first menu screen on my tablet, even in game.

ParticipantThe mod is for oculus, or generic S3D ?
If it’s for oculus, the mod should normally display it on a secondary display (the one from oculus9, so you should fool it in some way to use your real screen instead.

ParticipantThanks. I can stream this way but it’s not 3D and very weird to look at in cardboard. I think I read on reddit that Minecrift also works with cardboard which is why I tried it. I’d like to have real stereoscopic rendering.
@cercata: That also came to my mind but it is weird as I can see the Minecraft window and even browse the menu and start a game (blinded of course) but the whole window keeps being black.October 22, 2014 at 1:33 pm #1068Haizum74
ParticipantHave you tried it with fake 3d selected?
October 22, 2014 at 2:06 pm #1069Mhg8t
ParticipantNever tried Fake3D before and I got to admit that it’s better than I expected. Minecraft is playable this way but if there is a way to achieve real stereoscopic 3D then I’d like to know it.
