A couple of users reported an issue where Trinus connects correctly with both image and mouse working, but the head tracking stops after a few seconds.
This thread is to provide details on the issue and to try finding a solution.

My only guess right now is if it could be related to the ignore headtracking option: by default tracking data is ignored when you press 3. Maybe there is some bug or interference that activates this action.

If you are having this problem please try disabling the ignore action by going to Advanced mode->Sensors tab, press the Ignore action button to choose a key and press Escape (to disable the action). Report back whether this fixes the problem or not. Provide any details you can think of if it doesn’t and we’ll continue from there.

Ok this is what I get when I start the server :

10/9/2015 5:31:26 PM:Hotspot error The Wireless AutoConfig Service (wlansvc) is not running.

10/9/2015 5:31:33 PM:The Wireless AutoConfig Service (wlansvc) is not running. The hosted network couldn’t be stopped. Reason code is 0.

I then disable the ignore function as suggested and no change was found. 10 seconds then fail. I did remove a couple of joysticks from my system just ’cause.. maybe… but no. So I am still at a loss. Oh I tried running the server in win7 compatibility mode just ’cause… but no.. still no difference. This is what pops up during the error:

The mouse stops working 10 seconds after start so it would occur around :45, :46 and then me stopping it at :54. There ya have it. I can’t think of anything else that would be interfering. My router is near and is awesome. I stream with nvidia shield all the time so it can’t be that I hope.

Anyways thanks!! Hope we can get past this weird anomaly!

Just had this issue. Mouse stopped working after few seconds.
It is worth mentioning that I did not have this problem before, it appeared when I reinstalled the program due to a previous issue that the fresh install solved.

I tried switching from wifi to usb and it seemed to work for a while, but then the mouse start drifting endlessly on one side for no apparent reason.

Another things worth mentioning, I use to have a mouse tool in the background to simulate continuos right click press (for exploration games that, having to click and drag, tend to kill the experience) and it was running at the time the problem appeared (also, I used that tool before the fresh install and the issue was not there).

I’ll try to see with other settings if anything changes and if not I’ll try reinstalling again.
Let me know what info I can share with you in order to better understand the problem.

Wait, I think I identified when it occurs:

I noticed that the mouse stopped working in a few seconds every time the Auto adjust on the image quality was unchecked. As long as it was checked It worked as intended indefinitely (after 5 minutes I stopped the game). But the quality of image was very low.
So I started trying with every quality setting, and the higher the setting the sooner the mouse would stop working (at low worked for 2 minutes, at retro again indefinitely).

I don’t know why this has not happened before, though. I used to left the box unchecked and the image settings at normal until today.

Hmmm.. I have the same problem no matter what I choose. auto adjust or not it still acts the same. Even in retro mode it’s the same.

Well, for me it happens when the frame rate drops, or the frame rate drops because of something that is also responsible for the mouse tracking to stop.
Have you tried in usb tethering mode? In my case sometimes it worked (and sometimes it triggered some strange mouse behaviour)

Unfortunately for me I won’t be able to do tethering until I switch providers.. Currently I have a t-mobile sim card in a verizon galaxy s5. Until I change to verizon, which will be in a few days, I can’t tether. But I might ask, how many seconds exactly does the issue occur for you? For me it’s exactly 10 every single time. No variation. I saw other people saying a few seconds, so would that be another issue from what I am having since mine is specifically 10 seconds? Just a thought.

I don’t know how t-mobile works, however for the usb tethering to work you should not need even a sim card in your phone: if your provider does not want you to tether internet connection just turn off mobile data, the app in usb tethering mode does not need it anyway.
For me it is ‘around’ 10 seconds. Or, if I open the app in wifi mode, and I let some time pass and then open let’s say a Unity game, the mouse stops working instantly.

I don’t know what causes it, it didn’t use to be like that. Maybe it is the firewall or some port settings need to be done (I tried opening them on my router but nothing changed).
Right now I’m playing in usb tethered mode, with a long usb cable that allows me to move more or less freely. And I did not have any more mouse issues so far, so I’m sticking to it until this problem is sorted out.

I turned off mobile data and tried usb tethering: It said, ‘checking subscription status’ for a few seconds then says ‘unable to connect data connection not available’. If I have data on, it will say the same thing. I thought about staying with t-mobile (because it’s way cheaper) and flashing this phone to get rid of all that is verizon on it. I know it has something to do with either my plan (which I doubt because I have unlimited talk, text and data; but may be missing a feature to make tethering work?) or this verizon phone has some problem with my t-mobile sim card. I’m not a fan of wires, but I’ll definitely use tethering if it’s the only way to use this app right now. 😉

Don’t miss my previous comment^^ Oh yeah I forgot to mention that I also did not have this problem with the lite version the first time I installed and used it. I found that the lite version worked so well that I immediately bought the full version. The first time I used the full version… 10 seconds and mouse fail. Just for shits and giggles I uninstalled the full version and reinstalled the lite version and the problem was STILL there. I hope this bit of info helps too. I KNOW that this app works which is why this is so frustrating. Then my verizon/t-mobile war on my phone isn’t helping matters..

Interesting remark about working with lite at first but not anymore at some point regardless of uninstalls. Could it be a config issue?

    Try deleting C:\Users\[Username]\AppData\Local\Odd_Sheep_Ltd
(Note that AppData might be a hidden folder)
Then re-install and run Trinus again.
If that doesn’t help it you can try deleting this other folder too.
    C:\Users\[Username]\Documents\TrinusVR

If this does fix it, keep an eye for any possible settings change in case it stops working again.

I uninstalled Trinus pc server and deleted said folders. Next I downloaded the new 2.0.4 version of the Trinus pc server (I was working with 2.0.3 previously) and installed it. Still no dice. I did notice that my the Trinus VR app on the phone is still 2.0.3 full. Do you have a 2.0.4 full to match the pc server 2.0.4 version? I had high hopes for that suggestion to work, but it must be something else. It’s so odd that it would work normally the very first time I tried it. I have tried duplicating the success of my first attempt to no avail. Maybe my Windows 10 is messing with it somehow. I even tried to turn off the stereoscopic 3d processes running via nvidia, just to see if that interfered somehow, but no effect. I’m out of ideas.. Other than a fresh install of windows or something but I really don’t want to do that.

No, I don’t think reinstalling Windows will help.
It did happen to me once that the tracking didn’t work but right from the start (i.e. no 10 secs delay) and wouldn’t work again until I killed the Trinus phone app. Probably unrelated issue though. I will keep an eye on this, see if I can reproduce (best way to fix it), but I do not have any other ideas atm.
As for the versioning, yes there’s a 2.0.4 update available on Google Play.

First post Hi all! Great product, but I have an issue….

When connecting via WIFI ( phone WIFI to router, PC copper cat 5 to router) everything works great for about 10 seconds. I can move the mouse with…the mouse…and I can move the mouse with my phone. But about 10 seconds in the phone stops controlling the mouse. Everything else works fine but I can’t seem to move with the phone anymore. Trinus just stops registering the phone movement. not sure whats wrong. Any thoughts? Keep up the awesome work…this app kicks ass!!!

As the topic title says, the head-tracking stops after a couple of seconds. It used to work but on the latest update the issue started happening.

The phone is a Nexus 6P with Android 6.0.1 straight from Google, no boot-ware, no ROM. It’s connecting by local network to a Windows 8.1. I doubt all this matter thought, as it worked before with the exact same setup, the only change is the TrinusVR update.
