I have been looking and the only touch controllers I can find are with samsung, vive and oculas. It looks like they have a monopoly on the markets with vr. Can anyone recommend a cheap alterntive to the vive or oculus controllers. I saw leap motion but I heard thats not compitable with all games any adivice would be nice thanks.

I use a Steam controller, since I’m playing non-VR PC games through Trinus VR anyway. Downside is, in order to customise the controller mapping, you have to use Steam Big Picture. That means that the overlay on-screen won’t be visible if you use Trinus VR in Game mode (the marginally slower General mode works fine). Hardly cheap though.
I know many use a wireless Xbox controller instead, and you can pick them up cheap (bit of a hack to get it wireless with a PC, I understand, but many swear by it)
For more VR style input, closer to Occulus touch and Vive, that’d be using PlayStation Move controllers (which can be found pretty cheap on eBay etc.) and working out how to use FreePie and PSMoveService. Something I have zero experience of as I’ve not dipped into Steam VR games yet!
Yeah thats the problem I am runing in to now. I have my wired xbox 360 controller but its not working the only thing that works in steam vr home is the a button which only makes a clicking sound and the big picture button. nothing else works.
Just saw a video that included a tool that might solve your issues with the Xbox controller: Pinnacle Game Profiler. Costs $6.99 but it gives you an easy interface to remap controls for whichever game.
If you can code Python, though, you can do it for free with FreePie, which should be able to remap the Xbox controller to nearly anything.
I thought Steam could do this by default though tbh, with decent default profiles too, if you’re using that platform. Probably needs Big Picture mode though, as it’s like that for the Steam Controller remapping.
