Hi I downloaded the test and got it all fired up and working in Elite Dangerous but moving the phone does not track on the screen.
Am I missing something? I have the app on my phone and the server on my PC. Start the server then the app, fire up the game and the phone gets the picture but moving it doesn’t do anything to the view.
Tried it in Lock On too but just the same.

What does it use to track movement, is it the phone’s inbuilt stuff or do I need something external?
If I can get this working them I’ll buy the app and a headmount for the phone.

    Hi,

Trinus Gyre currently supports three main methods to track head movement: mouse emulation (mostly for fps), FreeTrack and TrackIR. I do have plans to add more protocols, and improve the existing ones (as there are compatibility issues with some games).
I believe Elite Dangerous supports TrackIR, so you should choose that option from the sensor type drop down on the server.
Remember to start the Trinus Gyre connection before starting the game (this is because of the tracking registration mechanism). Let me know if it works.

    Cheers

I’ve been playing around with the app but I still have problems. I set up Elite so that the app was using TrackIR and started it exactly how you said but still no tracking movement.. I made a You Tube vid of it.. sorry for the poor focus and shaky at times, it’s difficult to video on one phone while holding another one.

This is probably due to a bug on my TrackIR emulation which causes some games not to work with it. I’m sorry about this, I will try to get it fixed as soon as possible.
One workaround that seems to work (at least when I tested with Arma2) is to use FaceTrackNoIR first (execute FaceTrackNoIR, start it, run the game, stop it, and setup/run Trinus Gyre). This is far from ideal and I will work on a fix, but might do the trick in the meantime.

I seem to have got it working, I set it to mouse and set up mouselook in game and at first it didn’t respond. After I clicked the mouse 1 button and moved it with the mouse after that it would move with the phone.

I’ll have to get myself the full version as my test version time has just expired and I want a headset to mount the phone but it looks like it should all work.

Thank you for this… a whole lot cheaper than the other option.

Glad there is still an option. I will still try to improve the TrackIR protocol and make it work as it has better precision than mouse look.

    Cheers!

Now just have to wait them coming to try it all out in game.
